ole Summary:
This position is accountable for the full scope of the Erection of large Steam Turbines & Generators. This includes managing the pool of assigned Erection resources for Steam Turbines, Generators and related Auxiliaries globally (currently strong presence across EMA, China and India), establishing a global standard when it comes to tools, processes and knowledge as well as the smooth execution of the assigned projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Defines the organizational structure, procedures and state-of-the art tools for erection in alignment with global requirements
* Leads and coaches the assigned team by establishing an open and transparent communication, setting clear expectations, providing guidance and support and ensuring accountability for commitments
* Develops resource estimates and dispatches the required experts based on project requirements to secure execution at defined cost, quality and compliance with safety standards
* Monitor erection performance and progress in all areas including cost, schedule, technical advisory services, EHS and quality
* Identify performance issues and provide leadership to resolve them for ensuring project success
* Actively supports the tender process with regard to erection of STG
* Reviews, verifies and approves tender time schedule for erection
* Attracting, developing and retaining a competent team of erection engineers according to the business requirements
* Identify training needs, develop & execute appropriate training plans incl. effective training metrics to ensure return on training
* Ensure knowledge maintenance and transfer for erection activities
* Diligently manages base costs and identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements
* Continuously develops effective processes and tools and standardize where possible ensuring an effective learning feedback from every assignment
* Leverage fastworks and digitization tools to drive optimum process discipline across all project sites
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements
* University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Senior Expert Erection of large Turbo sets
* Strong applied knowledge of power plants systems and processes
* Minimum 8+ years of experience in site construction execution
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a field services leadership roles
* Ability to set realistic objectives, accurately appraise situations, detect risks and issues, and collaborate with GE internal teams and customer to find win-win solutions when issues arise
* Ability to prioritize and focus on the key business priorities and execute with a sense of urgency always having the customer in mind
* Proactive behavior and can-do attitude
* Strong decision-making capabilities
* Very strong problem-solving skills and results orientation
* Demonstrated success in working in a matrix environment
* Team player, creates a culture of collaboration
* Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams & across multiple time zones
